General Programme Information

Unlock Academy offers a fully accredited Bachelor of Arts in Applied Christian Ministry, structured across three academic years. Programmes include certificates, diplomas, and full degree options with practical ministry training.

In addition, there will also be a master’s and doctorate program that will be available for qualifying graduates

Yes, Unlock Academy is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE), ensuring all programmes meet national standards.

Students may earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Applied Christian Ministry, with credits accumulated progressively through NQF Level 7.

The programme runs over three academic years, with a credit breakdown of 129 (Year 1), 118 (Year 2), and 164 (Year 3) — totalling 411 credits. This is 3 years full time and 3 ½ years part time.

Admissions and Registration

Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent. Mature students and ministers may apply under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). They must be proficient in English and a measure of computer literacy, to complete logical, legible, and comprehensive assignments on general standard of Academia.
Must have access to a stable internet connection and Free Microsoft Teams application.

A pre-acceptance interview by the Academic Board of Unlock Academy for the CHE Program.
A commitment to honour all the policies and code of conduct as set in the Policy documents.

Applicants must submit:

  • A certified copy of ID or passport
  • Certified matric certificate or equivalent
  • Pastoral recommendation letter
  • Completed application form

Yes. Students can receive credit for prior formal or informal learning, workplace experience, or life learning. Assessment must align with SAQA standards and proof of prior learning must be submitted for evaluation purposes.

Applications can be submitted online or by email. After acceptance, students’ complete registration and payment via Unlock Academy’s administrative office or Moodle platform.

Learning Approach

Blended Learning at Unlock combines online instruction via MS Teams and Moodle with in-person practicum, allowing flexibility for working students and distant learners.

Online classes are conducted through MS Teams, emails, Lectures, assignments, and discussions are accessible through these platforms.

Students use a Learner Management System for academic materials and assessments, and Microsoft Teams for live instruction. Email is used for official communication and mentorship.

Tuition and Financial Matters

Tuition fees vary by year and module, starting from around R10,000–R30,000 annually. Fees are subject to change and include textbooks

Yes. Payment plans and financial aid arrangements are available.

Yes. Unlock offers family discounts at 10% and no long-term programme discounts.

No refunds are available. Once a commitment has been made for the year, and a withdrawal is requested, a student remains liable for the full tuition fees

Ministry Training and Curriculum

Students engage in street evangelism, mentorship, worship planning, preaching, teaching, healing ministry, and community outreach projects. These are assessed for credits.

Yes. The curriculum features modules in Servant Leadership, Spiritual Gifts, Pneumatology, Christian Dogmatism, and Project Management, preparing students for real-world ministry.

Absolutely. Students are mentored by faculty or pastors, and trained in mentorship themselves, enabling them to guide others in spiritual and academic growth.

Yes. The programme equips students for pastoral leadership and ordination, although actual ordination depends on denominational criteria and church structures.

Graduation and Recognition

Upon successful completion, students receive an accredited Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Christian Ministry. Graduation ceremonies are held once annually, celebrating student achievements.
