I am Ps Louw Wepener. Coming from a military and policing background, i was judgemental, egoistic, self reliant, living a life of judge and jury at the same time, persecuting people left right and centre. Unlock was the pathway to my transformation, from a Saul to a Paul, it has been the most rewarding and significant change in my life. Today I stand at the helm of the Faculty, thanks to beautiful caring souls and tutors, being obedient, patient and assertive enough to bring forth the transformation. This is not just an academy, it is a life changing institution, with everlasting value.

Originally from Zambia, annd the in Amanzimtoti from 1970, I matriculated in 1978. I then completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at University of Natal (Pietermaritzburg campus) in 1984. I served my National Service in the SA Defence force from July 1985 to 1987. I have worked as accountant in various companies from 1983, before establishing a private accounting practice in about 1987. In July 1987, I visited an Assemblies of God church across the road from the University residence in Pietermaritzburg on the 1st Sunday of the 3rd term. Sitting at the back of the church after the doors had closed - I realized that the table in front was a communion table! I perceived the state of my life before God. The only proper response was to give my life to the lordship of Jesus in faith in what he had done in his death and resurrection. Since then, I have served for 12 years as a member of Christian Motorcyle Association in Pietermaritzburg and Pretoria. I was a member of Hatfield Christian Church from 1995 to about 2010. I was a leader in a cell group in the church before fulfilling the role of a shepherd over several cell groups under my local pastor. I was also actively involved in outreaches in Hatfield Christian Church.

I am a lead psychotherapist and Transformation Coach at Maison Consulting. I am psychology graduate and have been practicing for more than 17 years after been in the corporate world for the greater part of my career. I am also involved with outreach programmes to support mental health initiatives through partnerships with community structures like churches as well as corporate clients seeking to build healthier culture. My greatest motivation to make a difference in the lives of those that are less fortunate through kindness, service and compassion.

Apostle (Dr) Thabiso Edward Mbedzi

Apostle-Dr Thabiso Edward Mbedzi is the Senior Pastor and Founder of City of Life Church and New Life in Jesus Ministries, established in 1995 and 1987, respectively. Leading a network of over 42 churches across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, he is a visionary leader in ministry and community development. He founded and directs City of Life Development Holdings, overseeing City of Life Estates, and established the City of Life Christian School and Educum Institute Schools, which include a Bible School, School of Ministries, Leadership Ministry Training, and Leadership Development Academy.

As President and Founder of the United States of Africa Missions and World Outreach, he spearheads global Revival & Healing Miracle Services and church planting, broadcasting through The Voice of Life and Healing Today on social media, radio, and TV. A prolific author, he has written over 30 ministry study guides and books, with reprints underway. Apostle-Dr Mbedzi holds a Doctorate in Leadership Development and Management, serves as Chancellor at Unlock Academy, and is an Executive at Madibeng Ministers Fellowship and Apostolic Board Member of Christian Fellowship International.

Carrying a mandate of life, healing, and development through faith, he travels globally for revival services, leadership impartation, and prayer mobilization.

Professor Mbulelo Dyasi

Professor Mbulelo Dyasi is a consecrated archbishop and Brigadier General in Medical and Community Chaplaincy. Since 1998, he has been a passionate advocate for human rights, gender equality, and HIV/AIDS awareness. He proudly represents South Africa in various international programs in the UK and the USA, showcasing his commitment to fostering positive change.

As an accredited facilitator, assessor, and moderator, his contributions are invaluable. He is also the author of the inspiring book “Dignity in the Darkness: A Journey of Resilience, Resistance, and Redemption.” Professor Dyasi serves on the board of SAfAIDS, acts as the General Secretary of the SANAC PLHIV Sector, and leads the Sectoral Men’s Parliament, making a significant impact in his community.

My journey with Unlock Academy started in 2018 finishing my degree in 2021. Through the years Unlock Academy has been an integral part of my spiritual growth. Upon finishing my degree, I have decided to give back and become part of the Unlock family, in the capacity of facilitator and assessor. There is no other place for me to be, but here sharing the Gospel with future Pastors and living whole heartedly for Abba Father. Unlock has truly changed my life and am blessed to be a part of such a wonderful institution.

Once among the worst of sinners, I experienced a life-changing encounter with Father YHWH—a true "Damascus Road" moment. From that day forward, He transformed me completely, from the bottom to the top—just as Moses' staff (the snake) was lifted from the tail to the head. All glory belongs to Him who has given us the greatest gift of all: the gift of salvation. I entered into ministry in 2006 and have served as an ordained pastor since 2011. Throughout this journey, Unlock, and in particular Prof. M. Uitzinger, have played a vital role in both my personal life and my ministry. I am deeply grateful for her guidance, mentorship, and encouragement over the years. It is an honour to be part of this university initiative—an opportunity to help equip and empower emerging leaders for the great harvest that lies ahead. May we all continue to serve faithfully and bring glory to His Name.

I am Pastor Johan van Biljon, a born-again believer and baptized follower of Christ since 12 November 2016. I live in Carletonville and work as an Underground Training Shift Boss in the mining industry. Since beginning my theological studies with Unlock Academy in 2021, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a tutor, helping to equip student pastors for ministry. Unlock Academy stands out as a leading Christian training institution in South Africa, offering high-quality, practical, and Spirit-led theological education.
